INDIO, CA — A 28-year-old Indio man suspected of possessing a firearm during a road rage incident was arrested on Wednesday, authorities said.
On Tuesday, deputies received a report about a suspect identified as Henry Rodriguez who was in possession of a firearm during a road rage incident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
The next day, deputies served a search warrant at Rodriguez's residence in the 48000 block of Monroe Street in Indio, authorities said.
Before serving the search warrant, deputies assigned to the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force located Rodriguez driving in the 46000 block of Monroe Street. Deputies conducted a traffic stop, and Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, an unregistered handgun was located in the vehicle, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
During the service of the search warrant at Rodriguez's residence, an additional unregistered handgun was located, along with multiple firearms, body armor, high-capacity magazines, and ammunition, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Rodriguez was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for multiple weapons-related charges, authorities said.
Details about the alleged road rage incident were not provided.
According to court records, Rodriguez is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 19.
Bail information was not immediately available.
Authorities said the investigation was ongoing.
