PALM SPRINGS, CA — Palm Springs police reminded motorists to exercise caution Monday after a vehicle crashed into a building in the city over the weekend.
The crash took place in the La Plaza complex along Indian Canyon Drive at about 4:20 p.m. Saturday, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
A preliminary investigation revealed a motorist attempted a maneuver from a parking stall when "his foot reportedly slipped onto the accelerator," police said.
The vehicle went over a curb and onto a sidewalk, striking glass from two businesses and a pillar.
The driver, whose identity was not revealed, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.
Alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash, the department stated.
