INDIO, CA — A hiker experiencing a minor medical emergency was rescued Saturday from a remote area in Indio, authorities said.
Firefighters from the Riverside County Fire Department responded to the area east of the North Shore Drive and west of Dillon Road at 8:55 a.m. Saturday.
Rescue crews made access to the hiker and the person was transported to a hospital for further evaluation.
No additional injuries were reported, and it was unknown what kind of medical emergency the hiker experienced.
