Armed Suspect Seen In Palm Desert Slips Away: Sheriff
Authorities investigated witness reports of an armed person seen near a busy shopping district at Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive.
PALM DESERT, CA —Riverside County Sheriff's Department deputies were unable to find a reported armed person in Palm Desert, Monday night, they said.
Shortly after 6:15 p.m., deputies responded to a report of an armed individual in the area of Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive, Lt. Deirdre Vickers of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.
"They conducted a sweep in the area, but could not find anyone matching a description that was provided to them," Vickers said.

No injuries were reported, and authorities said there was no threat to the area, which includes the Waring Plaza, and the Town Center Square Shopping Center.
