Ballot Drop Boxes Near Palm Desert: CA Recall
The gubernatorial recall election is here. Have you dropped off your ballot?

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Tuesday is the day: It’s the last day to turn your ballots in or vote in person for the gubernatorial recall election that could unseat first-term Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Ballots include 46 candidates who are vying for Newsom's job, including 24 Republicans, nine Democrats and 13 others.
Polls and drop-off locations opened at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

“Voters who still have their vote-by-mail ballot can drop it off at any polling location, vote center, or ballot drop box,” said California Secretary of State Shirley Weber. “If you’re voting in person, you have a right to cast your ballot as long as you are in line by 8 p.m.”
If you are not registered to vote, there’s still time. Same-day voter registration is available at each county election office, polling place and vote center across the state. Out of 1,293,611 issued ballots in Riverside County, approximately 449,024 ballots have been cast, county officials reported Tuesday. Ballots turned in before Monday will be the first results released after the polls close election night.
According to Riverside County officials, the tentative schedule for ballot results on election night and beyond:
Polls close Tuesday at 8 p.m.
- Approximately 8:15 p.m., vote-by-mail results will be released.
- Approximately 9 p.m., early voting and mid-day ballot pick-up results will be released.
- Approximately 10 p.m., first polling place results will be released as workers continue transporting ballots from around the county to Riverside for counting. This update will include polling place ballots arriving to the registrar’s office for tabulation prior to 9:30 p.m.
- Hourly polling place results will be updated until 1 a.m.
- After 1 a.m. updated polling place results will be released every 90 minutes.
Depending on voter turnout, polling place ballot counts will likely continue until 3 a.m. on Wednesday. For Riverside County election results, check www.voteinfo.net after the polls close.
