A bicyclist was struck and seriously injured by a car today in east Palm Springs, police said.
Officers responded about 9:30 a.m. to East Vista Chino, east of North Gene Autry Trail, and found the injured bicyclist lying in the westbound lanes.
The cyclist, whose name was not released, was taken to a local hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was cooperating with officers, according to police, who did not immediately know if speed or alcohol played a role in the crash.
