Blythe Bluegrass Festival Begins Friday

BLYTHE, CA – Banjos, fiddles and guitars will be played day and night beginning Friday in Blythe, where the 31st annual Bluegrass Festival is expected to draw thousands of fans.
The weekend-long fest, sponsored by the Blythe Chamber of Commerce, will get underway at 9 a.m. Friday at the Colorado River Fairgrounds.
Ten bands are booked for the main venue, but jam sessions featuring local artists and aspiring musicians will take place around the grounds, according to organizers.

This year's festival lineup includes the Baker Family, The Bluegrass Brothers, Cold Creek, The Kody Norris Show, Mark Phillips, Marty Warburton & Home Girls and Sister Sadie.
There will be numerous vendors on hand, selling quilts, food and other fare.

Camping and recreational vehicle parking are available at the fairgrounds for enthusiasts who prefer to stay round-the-clock, until the last show at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Day passes cost $20.
