Cabazon Band of Mission Indians Announce $40,000 Donation to ABC Recovery Center

INDIO, CA – The Cabazon Band of Mission Indians will donate $40,000 to Indio's ABC Recovery Center to help cover the costs of recent improvements made to the facility, the tribe announced today.

The donation will officially be made during a ceremony Wednesday at the Fantasy Springs Casino's Cabazon Cultural Museum.

According to tribe officials, the donation will help the Indio rehabilitation center following a host of recent improvements, which included hiring a licensed and board certified clinical supervisor as clinical director, hiring two new therapists, contracting with a psychiatric nurse practitioner to treat clients with mental health issues and creating a new online training program that will provide annual training for center staff.

"ABC Recovery Center has long been appreciative of its relationship with Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians," ABC CEO Chris Yingling said. "We are a nonprofit with little to offer the tribe from a business perspective. The council members' recent decision to assist us financially in our transition astounds us and will allow us to 'pay it forward' to our community and those we serve."
