CareerBuilder is the second company to sponsor the tournament since Bob Hope’s name was dropped from the title. From 2012 to 2015, the event was known as the Humana Challenge. The event has raised $56 million for local charities since its beginnings in 1956, according to a press release.

The festivities began at 8 a.m. Monday with a kick-off breakfast at the PGA WEST Private Clubhouse, attended by La Quinta Mayor Linda Evans.
