Cathedral City Man, Palm Springs Teen ID'd in Deadly Crash
The crash happened early Sunday morning in Palm Springs.

A driver who lost control of a mid-sized luxury car and slammed into a pole, killing his two passengers, remained hospitalized Tuesday.
The unidentified driver suffered major injuries in the crash, which occurred at 3:12 a.m. Sunday at Gene Autry Trail and Tachevah Drive, police said.
The driver of a 2005 Cadillac CTS was northbound on Gene Autry Trail when he lost control and slammed into a traffic pole, according to Palm Springs police Sgt. Melissa Desmarais said, adding that the impact sheered the car in two. One passenger was partially ejected and the other was flung out outright, authorities said.

Osvaldo Ramirez, 21, of Cathedral City, and 18-year-old Tierra Reagins of Palm Springs were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver’s exact medical condition was not released.

Excessive speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash, and police are investigating whether alcohol also played a role, Desmarais said.
