Celebs, Tennis Stars to 'Smash' in the Desert Next Week

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA- Both Hollywood and sports celebrities will flock to the desert next week, as the 12th Annual Desert Smash gets underway.

The event, a special charity tennis tournament at the Westin Mission HIlls, will be hosted by WTA Superstar and former World #1 Victoria Azarenka and feature the likes of Chelsea Handler, Colton Haynes, Hilary Swank and Nicole Scherzinger, Patch is told.

"The Smash is gearing up for some of the most epic celebrity/pro tennis battles, as in year’s past it has gotten pretty intense on center court with the likes of Will Ferrell, Justin Bieber and Kevin Hart going racket to racket with one another," organizers say.

The event has two main parts: a day tournament, followed by a nighttime 'player party.' At the night celebration, both Ja Rule and Sia are scheduled to perform.

Tickets are on sale now, and there are 1,000 total seats to be sold for both the day and night portions.
