PALM DESERT, CA —The new area minor league hockey team, Coachella Valley Firebirds, unveiled their inaugural season hockey jersey Monday on the same day they donated $10,000 toward the Desert Blaze youth hockey program, they announced Monday. The donation shows their dedication to supporting youth hockey in the valley.
The team held the special unveiling event at the Palm Springs Air Museum in front of fans who had invested in season tickets, as well as the first 300 to purchase the team jersey during a blind pre-sale event in December.
The Coachella Valley Firebirds are the 32nd expansion franchise team through the American Hockey League. The Firebirds will take the ice in December of 2022 at the new Coachella Valley Arena in Palm Desert. They are the official affiliate of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken who launched in the 2021/22 season.
