Coachella Valley Public Cemetery District Receiving $1M In Federal Funding For Road Repairs
CVPCD is hopeful the work can begin in late 2026 or early 2027, pending finalization of a formal construction timeline.
COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — The Coachella Valley Public Cemetery District announced Monday that it will receive $1 million from the federal government to rehabilitate its roads.
The funding, secured through Community Project Funding requested by Congressman Raul Ruiz (D-Palm Desert), will support repairs on approximately 1 mile of decades-old internal cemetery roadways, including those surrounding the Veterans Memorial located at 82925 Avenue 52, Coachella.
The federal funding is expected to cover roughly 70 percent of the $1.4 million repair project.

"I’m proud to bring these resources home," Ruiz said, "and I’ll keep fighting for investments that make life more affordable for working people."
While the funds have been appropriated by Congress, CVPCD will be working with the federal government in the coming months to finalize the agreement and begin planning the project, CVPCD officials said.
