College Of The Desert: 2020 Stepping Out For COD Canceled Due To COVID-19

Officials announced the cancellation of the 2020 Stepping Out for COD gala starring Matthew Morrison, due to the COVID-19 virus today. The event was originally set to take place on Saturday, March 28 at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Desert.

Earlier in the day, California public health officials issued an updated policy on gatherings to protect public health and slow the spread of COVID-19. Public health experts have determined that gatherings should be postponed or cancelled across the state.

The decision to cancel the event does not come lightly as Stepping Out for COD is the College’s premiere fundraising event to support scholarships and programs for students in need at College of the Desert.
