The health and safety of students, faculty and staff continues to be the college’s top priority. The Desert Community College District Board of Trustees and college leadership are taking all appropriate measures and will continue to follow the expert guidance of state and county public health officials.
On March 13, 2020, the Riverside County Public Health Department issued a mandate closing all community colleges, preschools, K-12 public, private and charter schools, and universities in the county between March 16 and April 3, 2020.

Consistent with this guidance, all College of the Desert facilities will be closed to students, faculty, staff and the community during this time period. Only essential staff will be allowed on campus.
During the closure, faculty and staff will work remotely to move all of its classroom courses online. This process will be complete no later than March 30. Many classes have already transitioned online and will continue on schedule.
