Construction Of New $45M Indio Police Department Headquarters To Start This Summer

INDIO, CA — The city of Indio is nearing the start of construction on a new $45 million police headquarters at the highly lauded Public Safety Campus located on Bristol Street.
A groundbreaking ceremony is expected this summer for the new HQ that will serve as the central hub for law enforcement operations in the city.
Construction on the first phase of the 43,000-square-foot Public Safety Campus, which includes a new fire station, a dispatch center, and a two-story public safety services building, is winding down.

Officials announced on April 2 that the city is "advancing the next major phase of its Public Safety Campus," with construction of the new police headquarters.
“Indio is a growing community, and we are committed to investing in the infrastructure needed to support that growth,” said Indio Mayor Elaine Holmes. “This new police headquarters is a critical step in ensuring our city remains safe, resilient, and well-prepared to serve our residents for
generations to come.”

The new police headquarters is expected to be completed in spring 2028.
