Construction Underway To Upgrade The Indio Badlands Trailhead
Construction will be active from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
INDIO, CA — Construction to upgrade the Indio Badlands Trailhead began on Monday, which will add several improvements to the popular destination.
According to the City of Indio, improvements to the trailhead will include: a new parking lot with more than 30 additional parking spaces, more than 45 new trees planted, upgraded landscaping, solar-powered lighting, and a new walking path for improved access.
Construction will be active from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, but the trail is expected to remain open during construction.

Parking will only be available on Avenue 42 and Golf Center Parkway during construction.
Upgrades to the Indio Badlands Trailhead are expected to be completed by June 2026.
