Coroner IDs Man Killed On SR-74, East Of Temecula
The 31-year-old man died at the crash scene.

PINYON PINES, CA — A Pinyon Pines man who was killed in a solo-vehicle rollover crash Monday afternoon on state Route 74, between Anza and Palm Desert, has been identified by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.
Jared Michael Ellis, 31, was pronounced dead at the crash scene at 4:55 p.m.
The crash was reported at 4:30 p.m. on the eastbound side of the highway in Pinyon Pines, at mile marker 79.53 near Palm Canyon Drive.

Ellis's sedan overturned and ended up on the shoulder of the two-lane corridor, which traverses the lower half of the San Bernardino National Forest, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department personnel reached the location within 20 minutes and pronounced Ellis dead at the scene.

A dog was the only other occupant in the vehicle; animal control was requested for the injured pet, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The highway remained open as the CHP conducted a preliminary investigation.
