Coroner IDs Palm Desert Man Killed In DHS Crash
The fatal incident was reported on Palm Drive, just south of Beacon Way, around 7:40 p.m.
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA — A man who was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday night in Desert Hot Springs has been identified by the coroner's bureau as a Palm Desert resident.
Corey Callaghan, 37, was hit on Palm Drive, just south of Beacon Way, around 7:40 p.m. He died at the scene, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.
Desert Hot Springs Police Department's Doria Wilms, who serves as the agency's public information officer, said that the driver was cooperating with police, according to a report from KESQ. The report said Callaghan was on foot when he was hit.

Palm Drive between Varner and Dillon was closed for several hours while DHS police investigated. The department confirmed Friday morning that the roadway had been reopened.
