Coroner ID's Palm Desert Woman As Crash Victim

A 62-year-old woman was struck and killed by a driver on Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra Drive.

PALM DESERT, CA — A woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Rancho Mirage, authorities said Monday.

Alicia Miller, 62, of Palm Desert suffered fatal injuries about 9:56 p.m. Sunday in the area of Highway 111 and Frank Sinatra Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The agency said Miller was found in the roadway suffering from significant injuries.

Paramedics arrived shortly afterward and performed lifesaving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

It was unclear whether the motorist, who was not identified, sustained any injuries.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision, the department said.

The investigation was ongoing.
