Crews Rescue RivCo Hiker Suffering Medical Emergency

MECCA, CA — First responders rescued a hiker who was suffering from an unspecified medical emergency at a trail Thursday in Mecca, officials said.

The emergency was reported around 12:45 p.m. at Box Canyon Road and Painted Canyon Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Officials said crews made contact with the hiker using an off-road vehicle. The hiker was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.
