Desert Cancer Foundation Prepares to Paint El Paseo Pink
The 11th Annual Paint El Paseo Pink hosted by Desert Cancer Foundation is just around the corner.

From FG Creative: The 11th Annual Paint El Paseo Pink hosted by Desert Cancer Foundation is just around the corner. Coming up this Saturday, October 14, 2017, the event starts earlier this year, with registration opening at 7:00 a.m. and the walk beginning at 8:00 a.m. The Presenting Sponsor of the 11th Annual Paint El Paseo Pink walk is The Auen Foundation.

For the first time in the event’s history, El Paseo will be closed to traffic between Portola and Monterey for this event, with the exception of one vehicle – a hot pink BMW convertible, splattered with Paint El Paseo Pink, from BMW of Palm Springs, part of the indiGO Auto Group, which will serve as the pace car for the event.

The walk begins at The Gardens on El Paseo. Walkers will travel down to Portola Avenue, cross the street and head towards Monterey Avenue/Highway 74, then return to the lawn at the Gardens on El Paseo. The route is approximately two miles roundtrip. With the street closed to traffic, there is plenty of room to bring your kids and dogs along.
Registration is $25 per person. All proceeds raised from Paint El Paseo Pink will benefit Desert Cancer Foundation’s Suzanne Jackson Breast Cancer Fund for breast cancer screening, diagnostic and treatment services for local Coachella Valley residents. Online pre-registration at pepp.desertcancerfoundation.org is strongly encouraged.
Due to the closure of El Paseo, parking is available in the garage of The Gardens and surrounding streets. Be sure to get to The Gardens early to check out the vendor booths and kids’ activities before the walk begins. There will also be a performance by local band, Minor Emergency, and “Tough Guys and Gals Do Dance” from La Quinta High School. El Paseo and its lush landscape and boutique shops provide the perfect backdrop for walkers who will be able to experience live music, DJs, browse merchant shops, all while helping to support life-saving breast cancer screening, diagnostic and treatment services for our local valley residents!
