6 Winning Powerball Tickets Sold in California
Hundreds of thousands of people played Saturday night, but did anyone score the coveted jackpot prize?
By the time the numbers were drawn Saturday night, the Powerball jackpot had climbed to an estimated $949,800,000. Anyway you look at it, that’s a lot of money.
Ok, so maybe you didn’t get all five of the numbers, plus the red Powerball. But did anyone?
Nope, according to California Lottery Spokesman Alex Traverso. However, six tickets were sold in the Golden State with five of the numbers, but no Powerball.
And now, since no one won the jackpot, the prize has grown yet again, to at least $1.3 billion. That drawing will be held on Wednesday.
Of the massive jackpot, Traverso had this to say:
It was once an unimaginable threshold. The “B word” that Lottery electronic signs don’t even have space for. We’re talking billion. For the first time in history, Wednesday night’s Powerball jackpot has climbed over one billion dollars. That’s correct. Since nobody won tonight’s staggering $949 million jackpot, it has rolled to an estimated $1.3 billion for January 13!
