Eisenhower Health Named LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Top Performer

Eisenhower Health earned a 95 out of 100 from the assessment, placing it among 251 of the 906 participating healthcare facilities.

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA — Eisenhower Health has received the designation of "LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Top Performer" in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 15th anniversary edition of the Healthcare Equality Index, it was announced Monday.

The Healthcare Equality Index is a survey of healthcare facilities and their policies and practices dedicated to the equitable treatment and inclusion of LGBTQ+ patients, visitors and employees.

The survey looks at four central categories to make its assessment:
— Policies and training in LGBTQ+ patient care;
— LGBTQ+ patient services and support;
— Employee benefits and policies, and
— Patient and community engagement.

"The Healthcare Equality Index, at its core, strives to ensure LGBTQ+ people are protected and affirmed by their healthcare providers and feel safe seeking services," said Director of Health and Aging at The Human Rights Campaign, Tari Hanneman.

Eisenhower Health earned a 95 out of 100 from the assessment, placing it among 251 of the 906 participating healthcare facilities to earn the designation.
