Epson Tour Championship Set To Return To Indian Wells Golf Resort
The tournament marks the conclusion of the "Race for the Card."
INDIAN WELLS, CA — The Epson Tour Championship, the official qualifying tour of the Ladies Professional Golf Association, will commence at the newly renovated Players Course at Indian Wells Golf Resort, it was announced Thursday.
The event will take place the week of Sept. 28 through Oct. 4 at 440500 Indian Wells Lane.
"As a premier golf destination, we are excited to once again welcome the Epson Tour Championship to Indian Wells," Mayor Toper Taylor said in a statement. "The Epson Tour brings some of the most talented professional women golfers to or community and provides an incredible opportunity for residents, visitors and golf fans to experience championship-caliber competition right here in Indian Wells."

The tournament marks the conclusion of the "Race for the Card," a season-long tournament in which the top 15 finishers earn LPGA Tour cards for the following season.
Officials said this year's changes to the tournament's format includes the rule that the field will be limited to the top 80 players on the "Race for the Card" standings, and the 72-hole championship will feature a no-cut format.

The total winnings will be $250,000, with the winner earning $100,000, which officials said is a first in the tour's 46-year history.
Jody Brothers, general manager of the Epson Tour, commented on the renovated course, saying in part, "The newly renovated Players Course gives our athletes a true championship test, and the backdrop of the Coachella Valley creates an unforgettable setting for the final push toward LPGA Tour cards. This is where dreams are realized, and there's no place we'd rather do it."
