3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro’s Inaugural Beer Dinner On April 20 Showcases The Fine Beers of Stone Brewing Co.

The 3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro, located in the former Palomino Restaurant site at 73-101 Highway 111 in Palm Desert is hosting its Inaugural Beer Dinner with Stone Brewing Co on April 20.  This San Diego Microbrewery is known and celebrated for brewing "big character" beers that compliment the 3rd Corner’s innovative cooking.  Dinner will feature several of Stone Brewing Co.’s special brews. This unusual evening of food and drink begins at 6pm and is $40 plus tax & gratuity per person. Reservations are required. Please call: 760-837-9600

3rd Corner’s Paris Cordon Bleu Trained chef, Matt Smith, is creating a hearty four-course dinner paired with Stone Brewing Co.’s specially beers. The first course features honey mustard duck wings/ trio of celery and smoked blue cheese with Stone Pale Ale and Alesmith "X".  A braised lamb shank/ caramelized onions, farro risotto and fennel pollen follows. This course is complimented by Hennepin Farmhouse Saison and St. Fueillien Liefman’s Cuvee Brut Saison. The third “big’ course is an unusual Chili & Coffee Rubbed Whole Grilled Rib Eye/ confit fingerling potatoes, garlic and braised swiss chard. A Victory Hop Devil IPA and Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA finishes the main dishes. The evening ends with a cherry and chocolate tart/ smoked cherries and sea salt topped off by Ommegang Three Philosophers Quadruple.

Stone Brewing Co. was started in 1996 by Greg Koch & Steve Wagner. It is one of the country’s fastest growing breweries. Last year it produced 115,000 barrels of beer. That’s a 17% increase from 2009.
