The 3rd Corner Wine Shop and Bistro, recently honored as having one of the “Top 50 Restaurant Wine Lists in America“ by Open Table, the country’s leading restaurant reservation site, hosts a wine maker dinner showcasing wines from Summerland Winery on February 9 at 6:00 pm. 3rd Corner’s Paris Cordon Bleu trained chef, Matt Smith, has created an innovative menu to complement the wines of Summerland. The evening begins with a sumac crusted seared ahi tuna/ nasturtium pesto and pickled peach paired with a 2009 Santa Barbara Viognier. The Second Course is duck risotto/ duck prosciutto, orange powder, shaved fennel and cherry reduction paired with a 2008 Santa Maria Pinot Noir and 2009 Santa Maria Pinot Noir. That’s followed by a porcini mushroom rabbit loin/violet mustard, charred broccoli and mushroom chips with a 2007 Edna Valley Pinot Noir and 2008 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir. The evening ends with a dark chocolate tart/ zinfandel infused berries with a 2007 French Camp Zinfandel.
