Lucy Woodward at the McCallum

LUCY WOODWARD has always received high accolades for her unforgettable live performances. But comparisons to Bette Midler and Peggy Lee aside, Lucy has been turning heads and drawing high praise from a completely new and hard-to-impress audience, with fans of the superstar band Pink Martini. At international jazz festivals and symphony music halls this past summer, Pink Martini fans and music enthusiasts have been blown away by Lucy’s vocal prowess. During a three-night stint with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Resident Conductor Donato Cabrera raved how the songstress made every song that she performed her own.

Since last summer Lucy has also been singing with her own band and with international powerhouse band Snarky Puppy. Recently returned from an Armed Forces Network tour in Spain, Italy and Turkey, she's thrilled to be performing songs from her album HOOKED! (released on Verve Records) and some sizzling covers this January in Palm Desert.

Seamlessly drawing from a deep well of vintage jazz, swing, R&B and Latin music influences, HOOKED! marks Lucy as an effortlessly engaging, deeply expressive vocalist, an insightful, charismatic and disarmingly witty songwriter. Her gorgeous tone, vocal versatility and incredible musicianship bring what Songwriter's Monthly calls a "sultry intensity and scorching sensuality" to her bluesy jazz/pop performances, an altogether "jaw-dropping listening experience."
