Fatal Solo-Vehicle Crash Near Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Entrance Remains Under Investigation
Investigators are working to determine whether a medical emergency contributed to the crash.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — Authorities Monday were investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a man near the parking entrance of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway's Valley Station.
The crash was reported shortly after 5:30 p.m. Friday at One Tramway Road, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
Arriving officers found an unresponsive man inside the vehicle. Paramedics arrived at the scene a short time later and pronounced the individual dead at 5:49 p.m.

The identity of the deceased as withheld pending notification of next of kin.
"The circumstances leading up to the incident, including the cause of the collision and whether a medical emergency may have been contributing factor, remain under investigation," the department stated.
