2 Firefighters Injured Amid Roof Collapse In Indio House Fire

INDIO, CA — A fire broke out Monday at a single-story residence in Indio, leaving two firefighters with non-life-threatening injuries.

The blaze was reported at 1:21 p.m. Monday in the 80700 block of Alexandria Court, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said crews encountered an active fire at the attic of the family dwelling, and a second alarm response was requested.

A third alarm response was initiated a short time later, and two firefighters were injured during a partial roof collapse. They were taken to a local trauma center. No other injuries were reported.

The fire was contained at 2:55 p.m., officials said. Crews were expected to remain at the scene for an additional two hours for overhaul.
