Fire Destroys Grocery Store in Indio
The blaze started at around 9 a.m. and is still burning nearly two hours later.

A three-alarm fire heavily damaged a 10,000-square-foot vacant grocery store in Indio on Thursday.

The blaze was reported at 9:11 a.m. in the 45600 block of Rubidoux Street, Riverside County fire spokeswoman Jennifer Fuhrman said.
The first arriving units found a 10,000-square-foot grocery store with smoke showing. Second and third alarms were called as the fire grew and threatened nearby structures, Fuhrman said.

About 9:50 a.m., firefighters reported that the grocery store had partially collapsed and crews were working to protect surrounding structures.
No injuries were immediately reported.
