Fire Ignites Inside Thermal Farm Implements Garage

THERMAL, CA — A vehicle caught fire inside a farm equipment garage building in Thermal Monday morning, damaging the structure. No injuries were reported during the firefight, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The blaze was reported just after 10 a.m. at the metal garage located on Avenue 54 and Harrison Street in Thermal.

Crews arrived to find smoke and flames erupting from the domed structure where a piece of agricultural machinery ignited, according to the department.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Firefighters took an hour to douse flames inside the building. (Cal Fire photo).

Firefighters spent about an hour dousing the flames, contained by 11:30 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, the agency said.
