Firefighters Aid Injured Hiker On Bump And Grind Trail

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department firefighters hiked the remote Palm Desert trail, where a hiker called for aid.

PALM DESERT, CA— Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department firefighters aided an injured hiker Thursday morning.

Shortly before 9 a.m., a hiker called for help after suffering a minor injury, according to a Cal Fire spokesperson.

Crews hiked in and made patient contact, and the patient was evaluated at the scene.

Though the patient declined further care, the crews remained in the air for about an hour.

The Bump and Grind trail is considered a moderate hike, covering about 4 miles with an elevation gain of just over 1,000 feet. It typically takes about 3 hours to complete the full hike, according to AllTrails.com.
