“Fireworks purchased in these cities shall not be transported, used or possessed outside of the cities in which they were purchased,” Riverside County sheriff’s spokesman Albert Martinez said.

The bans, which affect all other Coachella Valley cities and unincorporated county areas, are aimed at reducing the danger of injuries and fires.
