Free 'Concerts In The Park' Returning To Palm Desert
The concerts will be held every Thursday in October at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park amphitheater.
PALM DESERT, CA — Get ready to rock as the Concerts in the Park series returns to Palm Desert.
Held every Thursday in October from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Palm Desert Civic Center Park amphitheater, the free concerts offer an evening of music by some of the top acts from across the region. A popular event with residents and tourists alike for more than a quarter-century, the series return following a pandemic-related break.
Finding the right mix of entertainment programming that appeals to a variety of music lovers is the responsibility of city of Palm Desert staff member Vanessa Mager. She said there’s a lot to look forward to this fall.

“We’re kicking off the season on Oct. 7 with Beach St. A GoGo,” Mager explained. “They offer a great mix of tunes in tribute to all the groovy sounds of the 60s. You might hear some of The Beatles or The Beach Boys, plus Motown and even a few one-hit wonders. I think this band will have the crowd tapping their toes and singing along.”
Other concert series performers include homegrown favorite Avenida Music on Oct. 14, playing their unique takes on classic rock, Spanish pop and Top 40.

On Oct. 21, Cash, Killer and The King take to the stage with a rock ‘n’ roll tribute to the Sun Records era music of Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Presley.
Wrapping up the season on Oct. 28 is New Sensations, a party band that plays it all from rock and pop to funk, soul, Motown, and more.
While the music is the main draw, food and beverage trucks will be available each concert evening offering a variety of culinary offerings. Concertgoers may also bring picnic baskets along with blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the shows. Alcoholic beverages and smoking are prohibited at Civic Center Park.
Palm Desert Civic Center Park is located on the northeast corner of San Pablo Avenue and Fred Waring Drive. For more information on attending the Concert in the Park series, call Palm Desert Visitor Services at 760-568-1441.
