Free Gas, Coffee Among Giveaways at Upcoming Local Blood Drives

LifeStream blood bank will hold several donation drives in the Coachella Valley over the next two weeks, starting Wednesday.

Here’s their schedule:

• Wednesday, 9 a.m. at Food 4 Less, 82124 Highway 111, and Kmart, 81691 Highway 111. Donors at Food 4 Less can get a $15 gas card
• Friday, 9 a.m. at Subway and It’s a Grind, 44100 Jefferson St., Indio, and 10 a.m. at Food 4 Less, 34251 Date Palm Drive, Cathedral City. Donors at Food 4 Less can get a $15 gas card
• Sunday, 10:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Soledad Catholic Church, 52-555 Oasis Palm Drive, Coachella. Donors can get a $15 gas card
• Dec. 30, 9 a.m. at Lowe’s, 5201 Ramon Road, Palm Springs, and 10 a.m. at Walmart, 34500 Monterey Ave., Palm Desert. Donors at Lowe’s can get a $15 gas card
• Dec. 31, 10 a.m. at Desert IMAX Theatre, 68-510 E. Palm Canyon Drive, Cathedral City, and Starbucks, 14207 Palm Drive, Desert Hot Springs. Donors can get a $15 gas card, and, at Starbucks, free coffee
• Jan. 2, 9 a.m. at Starbucks, 67870 Vista Chino, Cathedral City and 11 a.m. at Subway, 14212 Palm Drive, Suite A3, Desert Hot Springs. Donors can get an “Are You My Type?” T-shirt and, at Starbucks, free coffee

All donors get free cholesterol screenings and physicals.

Healthy people at least 15 years old can give blood, but those 15 and 16 years old must have written consent from a parent. Photo identification is required, and all donors should eat and be well-hydrated before arriving.
