PALM SPRINGS, CA —The V Palm Springs hotel announced that on Saturday it will host a grand opening celebration for GiGi's Restaurant & Lounge, the hotel's second restaurant. The grand opening will be an invitation-only affair.

In a release, GiGi's vibe is described as "the luxurious glamour of Palm Springs nostalgia combined with a vibrant, fun and engaging high-energy environment."

The restaurant, which will begin taking reservations on Oct. 28, will feature specialty craft cocktails and a menu featuring hors d'oeuvres and "dishes reimagined from classic staples of the Golden Age." The establishment is operated by Geragos Global Hospitality (GGH) and Greg Grossman is the executive chef.

"Now more than ever, we have seen younger consumers being intrigued by the sophistication, preparation and flavors of food and drinks that were commonplace many years ago," Grossman said. "We wanted to create an environment that brings these vintage flavors and glamourous preparations into the 21st century, by creating a sharable, engaging and most of all, fun, dining experience in Palm Springs.

"We have been laser focused on creating a venue that incorporates live entertainment, DJ's and programming into a high-energy but sophisticated environment that's perfect for a Thursday night out, just as it is for a bachelorette party on a peak-season Saturday evening."

Palm Springs-based interior designer Christopher Kennedy consulted on the design of GiGi's, which, according to the release "reflects desert culture with its earth tones and pops of color." The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and features a bar and firepit cocktail lounge.

"I am delighted that V Palm Springs has turned to a local design firm to create a unique dining experience at their hotel," Kennedy said. "Having lived in Palm Springs for nearly 20 years, I am excited to be creating a fun, fresh venue for visitors and locals alike. Our design for GiGi's is both nostalgic and completely current, simultaneously speaking to both the past and future of Palm Springs as a world-class resort destination."

The V Palm Springs offers 143 hotel rooms, two pools, an event space and a gym.

In addition to GiGi's, the property features the Elixir Bar and Grill, a Polynesian-inspired tiki bar that serves Asian-inspired BBQ bites.

GGH, which operates both restaurants, said there are plans to open a third restaurant at The V Palm Springs by the end of the year. It is expected to be a mid-century-themed sports lounge and playroom concept, and will feature innovative snacks and barista service during the day. The restaurant will transition to a taproom lounge at night.
