Golf, Tennis, Swimming To Resume In Palm Springs

City council voted 5-0 Thursday night to relax restrictions.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Palm Springs residents will be allowed to play certain recreational sports again, including swimming, golf, tennis and pickleball, following a 5-0 vote by the city council on Thursday night.

Play on public and private golf courses and tennis and pickleball courts had been suspended amid coronavirus and orders by the county and city.

The council also voted to allow for expanded swimming at private community pools. Multiple users are now allowed to swim in community pools as long as at least six feet of social distancing is practiced or are members of the same household. For jacuzzis, only one person or members of the same household are allowed. Patio furniture is allowed re-introduction at private community pools as long as it is sanitized and social distancing is practiced.
