One Riverside County town set a 110-degree, scorching record.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA – As predicted, Riverside County felt the heat Sunday.
In fact, the 110 degrees recorded in Thermal on Sunday was one of the nation's highest temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.
The only other area that hit 110 degrees? Death Valley.

The Thermal heat set a record in the desert community, besting the old record of 107 set on this day in 1963.
The mountain community of Idyllwild also hit a record Sunday at 82 degrees, beating its previous record in 2009 of 81 degrees.
