PALM DESERT, CA — A hiker was rescued by helicopter Monday after suffering minor injuries on a Palm Desert trail.

The hiker was reported down at 10 a.m. Monday at the Bump and Grind Trail, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said the male hiker was experiencing "general weakness." A Riverside County Sheriff's Department rescue helicopter hoisted him to a waiting ground ambulance for transport to a hospital.
