Hit-And-Run Driver Strikes 80 Year Old Pedestrian, Sought In Palm Springs
Witnesses at the scene saw the motorist briefly stop after hitting the woman, but then drive off, police say.
PALM SPRINGS, CA — Palm Springs police sought the public's help Thursday to identify a motorist who struck and injured an 80-year-old woman then fled the scene.
The woman was struck shortly after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Hermosa Drive and Vista Chino, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
Arriving officers found a woman, whose name was not released, suffering from major injuries. Paramedics took her to a hospital in unknown condition.

Police said witnesses at the scene saw the motorist briefly stop after hitting the woman, but then drive off. The suspect's vehicle is believed to be a white Ford F-150, possibly a 2000 model year, driven by a man with a scruffy white beard, possibly in his 60s.
