Holiday Ice Spectacular and Tree Lighting at Rancho Mirage Ice Skating Rink

RANCHO MIRAGE, CA - A holiday ice spectacular and Christmas tree lighting will greet guests Tuesday at the Coachella Valley's new outdoor ice skating rink at the River shopping center in Rancho Mirage.

The festivities kick off with the tree lighting and appearances by Santa and the Rancho Mirage High School Choir, who will perform Christmas carols.

The Holiday Spectacular on Ice will follow, with a skating performance from 80-year-old skating legend Richard Dwyer, otherwise known as "Mr. Debonair," a former member of both the Ice Follies and Ice Capades, and a member of the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

Dwyer will be joined by Krystal Davis, Nichole Huenergardt, Katie Kornfield, Eric Sjoberg, Ella Ales, Alfred Bartel, Carolyn Bartel and 8-year- old Sonia Baram.

Guests can continue to enjoy the skating rink transformation of the River's outdoor waterfront until Jan. 8. Skating sessions cost $15 and include skate rental.
