Indio Police Cite 32 Drivers At Checkpoint For These Violations
A recent traffic enforcement checkpoint yielded numerous citations due to speeding, distracted driving, seat belt and other violations.
INDIO, CA — Indio police officers cited 32 motorists for committing several violations during a traffic enforcement detail, it was announced Thursday.
The operation was held Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the city, according to the Indio Police Department.
Of the 47 vehicles contacted, 32 drivers were cited, which included stop sign violations, using a cell phone while driving, pedestrian violations and several traffic warnings.

Police focused on speeding, distracted driving, seat belt violations, impaired driving and other dangerous driving behaviors that might have put others at risk.
Funding for the operation was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
