Legacy Chinese Restaurant To Offer Dim Sum
The eatery is located at Highway 111 and state Route 74 in Palm Desert.

Legacy Chinese Cuisine will start serving authentic Dim sum, starting in October.
The restaurant, located next to the Starbucks at Highway 111 and state Route 74 in Palm Desert, will be serving the Chinese dish daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to Pamela Bieri, a spokeswoman for the eatery, which also operates Legacy Thai in La Quinta.
Legacy Chinese Cuisine was opened in June and specializes in Chinese dishes created by chef Chai Butrlakorn, who with his wife Ally, are proprietors of the duet of new Asian restaurants.

"We are bringing the best of both our cultures - Chinese and Thai -- to our two new restaurants," said Butrlakorn.
"We believe that the desert is ready for authentic modern Asian cuisine with the freshest quality, made-to-order gourmet dishes without the gourmet price," he said.

Literally meaning "to touch your heart," Dim Sum is a culinary art intricately linked to the tradition of "yum cha" or tea drinking, developed over centuries, probably started by travelers journeying along the famous Silk Road, Bieri said.
"We expect that our Dim Sum will soon become a tradition on Sunday as one of the best places to go for brunch," said Butrlakorn. "Usually one orders lighter steamed dishes first, then more exotic dishes and finally desserts."
Some of Legacy Chinese Dim Sum delicacies include mini spring rolls, Shu Mai, pork spare ribs, shrimp dumplings, pot stickers, steamed pork buns, egg custard tarts, mango pudding and many other delectable bites, all ranging from $2 to $4 per item.
