Library Director Throws Baseball Game's First Pitch To Promote Summer Reading Challenge
The Palm Springs Public Library Director will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Tuesday's Palm Springs Power SoCal Baseball League game.

PALM SPRINGS, CA — Palm Springs Public Library Director Jeannie Kays will throw the ceremonial first pitch at Tuesday night's Palm Springs Power Southern California Collegiate Baseball League game at Palm Springs Stadium.
Kays is throwing the first pitch in celebration of the library's sponsorship of free admission for library card holders to any Power home game and the library's Summer Reading 2026 Challenge.
The Power's game against the Inland Valley Bucs is scheduled to start at 7 p.m., with the first pitch set for 6:50 p.m.

Library card holders can get free admission to any Power home game by showing their Palm Springs library card at the box office.
The free tickets were made possible by the Friends of the Palm Springs Library, which also sponsors the Summer Reading 2026 Challenge.

Prizes include free books and grand prize entry tickets. Weekly raffles were being held at Summer Reading events, and grand prizes will be drawn at the Grand Finale Summer Reading Celebration scheduled for July 22 at the Rimrock Plaza Shopping Center Library.
