The Living Desert Zoo Announces Job Fair To Fill 70+ Positions

PALM DESERT, CA — The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens in Palm Desert announced Thursday that it will host a job fair later this month in an effort to fill over 70 full-time, part-time and seasonal positions.

The event is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. August 20 at the 1,200-acre zoo located at 47900 Portola Avenue.

The nonprofit organization reported it recently celebrated a record-breaking year and has open positions in guest services, food service associates and cooks, retail, administration, custodial, maintenance and animal care. In addition to being a popular destination for visitors who want to learn more about wildlife species and desert fauna, the zoo is active in conservation research, habitat protection, breeding
programs and education initiatives around the world, as well as in its own community, according to officials.

For those interested in working at the zoo, candidates must be at least 18 years of age; be eligible to work in the United States; show proof of vaccination against COVID-19, including booster; and pass a background check. Job fair attendees should arrive interview-ready and bring their resume and valid ID. Attendees are encouraged to complete an application prior to arriving at the job fair.
