Local Assemblyman to Honor Perfect Thermal High School Soccer Team
"Their success on the field is only the beginning of a successful future ahead of them."
THERMAL, CA - A state lawmaker will help honor the boys soccer team of Desert Mirage High School at a special ceremony tomorrow for their perfect season and CIF-Southern California Region V Championship win.
"I'm proud to represent a talented group of young men who have shown tenacity on the soccer field and in their communities," said Assemblyman Eduardo Garcia, D-Coachella. "Their success on the field is only the beginning of a successful future ahead of them."
Garcia, who represents the 56th Assembly District, will be at the campus tomorrow morning for a special school assembly honoring the Rams' 26-0 season.

The team, which was also recognized last week by Rep. Raul Ruiz, D-Palm Desert, capped off its winning season by winning the CIF championship on March 12, defeating Shadow Hills High School.
