Man Drowns in Palm Desert

A senior citizen drowned Wednesday in a swimming pool in Palm Desert, authorities said

Emergency crews responded at 12:49 p.m. to a report of a man at the bottom of a pool in the 74100 block of Pele Place, Cal Fire Riverside spokeswoman April Newman said.

Firefighters arrived to find the victim dead, she said. His exact age and name were not immediately available.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was investigating the death.
