Man Who Disappeared In Palm Desert Found Dead

PALM DESERT, CA — The search for a missing Palm Desert man has ended with tragedy.

A body found May 28 in open desert near Indio was confirmed as that of 36-year-old James Philip Nastasi, according to an update Monday from the county coroner's office.

Nastasi was last seen in the 78000 block of Rainswept Way in Palm Desert. His disappearance date was not disclosed but authorities named him as a missing person on May 21.

Nastasi was last seen wearing a sleeveless t-shirt, shorts and flip flops.

His cause and manner of death were not disclosed.
