Missing Hiker Found Dead Off La Quinta Cove Hiking Trail
Thomas Stanley Teague, 46, was reported missing at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
LA QUINTA, CA — Search-and-rescue volunteers looking for a missing hiker found him dead off the La Quinta Cove hiking trail, authorities said Monday.
The hiker, identified as Thomas Stanley Teague, 46, of La Quinta, left on Thursday and was subsequently reported missing Saturday afternoon, according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Daniel Porras.
The volunteers, aided by California Highway Patrol and sheriff's helicopters, scoured the area beginning at 6 a.m. Sunday and found Teague's body about noon.
